Help Shape the Future of Community Standards in Raymond

We all want Raymond to be a place where people feel safe, respected, and proud to call home. Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just moved to town, you’ve likely noticed how small things—like a peaceful evening free from loud noise, a well-kept boulevard, or clean public spaces—can make a big difference in how our community feels.

That’s why the Town of Raymond is working on a new Community Standards Bylaw, and we want to invite you into the conversation.

This isn’t just another bylaw update. We’re taking a thoughtful, big-picture look at how we can modernize and combine several of our older bylaws into one clear, practical regulation that reflects our community’s values today—and where we want to go in the future. The new bylaw will bring together and replace at least the following:

  • Noise Bylaw

  • Open Burning Bylaw

  • Smoking and Vaping Bylaw

  • Cannabis Consumption Bylaw

  • Graffiti Bylaw

  • Care of Boulevards and Lanes Bylaw

  • Dangerous and Unsightly Property Bylaw

  • Curfew Bylaw

  • Fireworks Bylaw

We know that each of these topics touches different parts of daily life—how we use our yards, how we enjoy parks, when and where we can roast marshmallows over a fire, or what’s acceptable noise late at night. The goal is to create a single bylaw that is easier to understand, easier to enforce, and—most importantly—built with the input of the people who live here.

We want to hear from you.

Your feedback will help guide what this new bylaw looks like. We’re especially interested in your thoughts on:

  • What kinds of behaviours or activities should be addressed?

  • How should we balance individual freedoms with community expectations?

  • What enforcement options feel fair and effective?

  • Are there specific issues you’ve noticed in town that need more attention?

Whether you’re passionate about keeping your neighbourhood tidy, have concerns about noise or fire safety, or simply want to make sure the bylaw reflects common sense, this is your chance to shape the conversation.
